In collaboration with The National Committee for 4 and 5 May and Young Impact, we developed a unique strategy to captivate young people and gain their interest in the significant themes addressed during these important days. Creators Sara Dol, CromoTag, Noa Noelle, and our very own Jitse each played a key role in bringing this project to life. Below is a brief overview of their cool achievements:
Jitse created a unique and personal story for this campaign by producing his very own documentary, published on his YouTube channel. In the documentary, he begins at his childhood home to highlight his personal connection to the Second World War. He then retraces the route taken by children who were deported from Kamp Vught to Auschwitz during the war, creating a powerful and emotional journey.
With the guidance of Marion, he learns about life in the camp, the harsh conditions, and the heartbreaking end many of these children faced. Through this 16-minute video, Jitse reflects on the importance of freedom, the unimaginable struggles these children endured, and why it is crucial to ensure that such tragedies never happen again.

CromoTag was the perfect fit for this project. He has a unique ability to engage his community in meaningful discussions, even on heavy topics like those surrounding 4 & 5 May. During his livestream, he had a deep conversation about the importance of having a National Day of Freedom and why it’s essential to remember that our freedom came through the sacrifices of others.
The livestream took place on May 4th and included a powerful moment of 2 minutes of silence, which CromoTag observed live with his audience. In a remarkable show of respect, his community also stayed completely silent in the chat. To add depth to the experience, the official memorial broadcast was streamed alongside this moment.
After this moment silence, Jitse, Sara, and Noa joined the stream to discuss the significance of the 2 minutes of silence. They also reflected on the documentary Jitse created, sharing how the process impacted him personally and created meaningful conversations about freedom.
To end the campaign Sara and Noa attended Bevrijdingspop in Haarlem, where they streamed IRL content throughout the day, giving their young audience an honest view of the festival. Sara also created extra content for TikTok by interviewing visitors, presenters, and artists, capturing the full atmosphere of the event.
They spoke to people of all ages, from teenagers to individuals in their 80s, creating meaningful connections and highlighting the diversity of the festival’s crowd. With engaging questions and plenty of dancing, they brought a fun and dynamic vibe to the stream, as they were, of course, celebrating freedom as well!
It was a day full of energy, great conversations, and moments that truly captured the spirit of Bevrijdingspop!
