Creators For Freedom
On May 4th and 5th in the Netherlands, we remember the victims of war and celebrate the freedom we enjoy. In 2023, we teamed up with Young Impact and The National Committee for 4 and 5 May for a beautiful, social project. Our own creators, Ronald, Paraduze, and Fems, gave their own creative twists into their role during the project.
Ronald, in cooperation with his grandmother who witnessed the war as a child, created an amazing video where he discusses her past during the Second World War. Meanwhile Ronald converses with two war veterans about their experiences during the war, the mental aspects of conflict, and the importance of the two minutes of silence on May 4th.
Meanwhile, Paraduze connected with Iwan, the child of a war veteran. In the video that Paraduze made, he explored the feelings of Iwan about May 4th & 5th and the pride they feel for his father who is a war veteran.
On May 5th, Fems went to Bevrijdingsfestival in Haarlem and streamed for 4 hours on Twitch. She interviewed festivalgoers, artists, and volunteers, capturing their thoughts on the significance of May 4th & 5th and their experiences at the festival.
The goal of the project was to connect with an online (gaming) audience to talk about the importance of 2 minutes of silence on May 4th and why we celebrate freedom on May 5th. It was a great success.
